Hello everyone!!! My name is Binasa Mesic. A little bit about myself. I am from Bosnia, which is in Europe and what once used to be Yugoslavia. Not many people know about the Bosnian war but that is the reason I am here. I came here as a refugee with my mother and step-dad in September of 1994. Yes, I am bilingual and unfortunately I am not as fluent in Bosnian as I once was. Growing up I was a single child until the age of nine and I had to take on the role of teaching my parents to speak English. In the process I lost my own language. I can still understand it and speak it but when I have trouble getting something across I switch to English. Hopefully, one day I can maybe take up a class so I can perfect my fluency! Like they say if you don't use it you lose it. I am twenty four, a full time student, part time barista at Starbucks and a mother to my beautiful Emma, who is twenty two months old. She definitely keeps me on my toes!! If you haven't noticed my bulging belly, well now you will. My fiance Matt and I, will be expecting another little girl in early December! We are very excited, especially for our little Emma, she will be a big sister! As for me, no more babies!! Pregnancy is just a pain to go through. Whoever said pregnant women glow LIED!! There is no glow about pregnancy what so ever! You gain weight, you're moody 24/7, hungry 24/7 and there is so much testing to go through, I swear I feel like a lab rat. I am blessed I was able to have two and stopping at an even and happy number.
A few of my hobbies are playing tennis, crafting and EXTREME COUPONING! Yup, I am that lady that holds up the line with her three inch binder of coupons. I got into couponing a little over three years ago and man let me tell you it is addicting. When you walk out of the store paying six dollars for a bill that was 108 is an amazing feeling! When it's free it's even better. I have not purchased shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, dish washing soap, and facial cleansers in over two years. This is just a few of the items I have not purchased!! Couponing is very rewarding but it takes a lot of work and not many people realize that. It is literally like a job. You spend hours cutting up coupons and organizing them in your binder, plus you have to go through the weekly adds to see what is on sale and what you can get for free. It doesn't stop there, there are websites you go on and visit that point out freebies everywhere. If anyone is interested in starting up couponing, I would start of with visiting Bargainbeliever.com. The inventor of this website is amazing!! Plus don't forget every Sunday go get your paper, that's where all the coupons are. This does not include the extra one you get in your mail so do not throw your ads away!!! Also, if you go to the dollar store or dollar general they sell the Sunday paper for one dollar instead of the two dollars plus tax you would be paying at other locations!!! I know I sound crazy but it is so worth it!
My goals for attending GCC are to complete my Associates in Arts and transfer to NAU's teaching program on campus. After not knowing what I wanted to do with my life for so long and taking time off, I have decided that early education was my calling. I love working with kids in general and helping them but elementary was the way to go for me. I worked at Independence high school for a short time and I loved my job but I could not handle to be around hormonal kids all day long. It didn't help that I was pregnant with my first child, either. I decided to explore elementary and after doing some observation hours at Horizon Elementary for a class, I knew that was what I wanted to kids. The little ones are so precious to be around and still so innocent! They are kind and look up to you and so loving for their age and I just love that! I am hoping I can just continue attending GCC until I get my Bachelors and be on my way to my teaching career.
I hope you enjoyed reading my blog! See you in class!
