Entry#4: Food

 After watching "Food Inc." I am even more disgusted with the food industry than ever before. I already know what goes on behind closed doors at the hundreds of slaughterhouses that plague our country, but now knowing how deceptive our government is makes me really angry!!! As if murdering and torturing these animals before death wasn't enough now their feeding the world with lies. The one thing that really got me was how we've become the number one corn producers by taking away the corn fields from farmers in Mexico and putting them out of business. If that wasn't bad enough, then we post jobs in America in their local newspapers!! It's unbelievable! We talk about the many problems that come from illegal immigration yet we are bringing these people here to work under terrible conditions. These illegal Mexican immigrants don't leave their land because they don't like it but because they need jobs to support their families. This really opened my eyes and made me look at illegal immigration from a whole new perspective. Our government talks about change and wanting to secure our borders but we're driving big buses into Mexico and crossing illegals over! They find ways to distract the public from whats really going on in this world.

How scary is this photo above? We as parents are told that baby food is healthy and safe and something we should feed to our children but their hiding the fact that they use GMO's in their products. Really?? My daughter ate Gerber foods and now I am more angry than ever! We wonder why there are so many sick babies and so many rare diseases we cannot cure but we continue to feed our children food's with GMO's. I should have researched this when I had my daughter but before my daughter I had no knowledge or interest in knowing about the foods I consumed. Shame on me! It's amazing how our lives change when we become parents.

Yup!! I will be that parent that makes organic lunches for their child everyday! I do not want my child exposed to this! After doing researched months ago on how meat was produced, I learned that schools get the short end of the stick when it comes to nutrition and food. Did you know that the food that's served at schools are what is left over of the dead animals at slaughterhouses? Yeah, there is nothing good or nutritional about school lunches. God only knows what "meat" children are really eating!
